Labor Day

Well, I spent the day just puttering around the house with the family and working on a new quilt top. I went ahead and made 30 blocks my scrap loopy top and this is how they look laid out:

Here's another shot of them laid out a little bit differently:

What do you think? Honest answers preferred!!

  1. Oh I like it - I am a scrappy quilter and like the scrappy subtleness of the rings -and how the blue and grey? grid shows through. very nice!!!

  3. When the 1st pic popped up I thought "ooh cool rings". Then I saw the 2nd one and now I can't decide, but I'm probably leaning towards the 2nd one.

  4. Nice work. I prefer the 2nd one --I see 2 complete and 1 1/2 ring in it. In the first one I see a half ring, a full ring, and a half ring. Is this your own design?

  7. I like the 2nd one because I think I can see the flow of the pattern better.
Have an idea how you will quilt this one?
    Lovely work.

    Happy sewing

  9. I know I am visually challenged but the only difference I could see is the darker half rings are on the left in #1 and on the right in #2. If it would not make the quilt too large for your use, I would make another row of blocks to complete the dark half ring, making 3 complete dark rings across. Y-Bridge and Mr. Roosevelt's Necktie are similar blocks, but I love yours more. I'm sure whatever you choose, your finished quilt will be lovely. Happy Stitching!

  11. Very beautiful, both layouts are nice. But I think I would prefer No. 2

  12. Pretty quilt! I like #2. It seems to pop more with the darker pieces in the circular pattern.
