Introducing Geese Crossing

Yup...that is the name of my string quilt. I got all the remaining center blocks made today and got them all put together. What do you think?

I have a couple of ideas for the borders, but not sure what I am going to settle on. I REALLY like how this is coming out. The bad news is that I started by making little string blocks because I had 3 overflowing bins of strings. Now that I have all these blocks made..I STILL have 3 overflowing bins of strings! lol

Here is what I have done with the tiny 9 patches that I made as leaders and enders. I am putting them together as leaders and enders, also.

I think that about wraps up the sewing for today. Time for some dinner then wine and a movie. Hope you all had wonderful weekends!!

Frugal tip: Tell your friends and family about your obsession with quilting and fabrics. I did and now EVERYONE saves me all their cast off cotton clothing!! Wooohooo! Free fabric!!

  3. I love "Goose Crossing" ; I have just begun to make string blocks and can't stop. I love them but not sure what I'm going to do with them but I sure love what you did. I'm thinking some kind of pieced sashing as it is so interesting.

  4. What a wonderful quilt. I think I'd do the borders with the geese and posts, just as you used in the centre, but looking at it, does it even need any borders?

  9. Wow! Another winner. And, you should consider submitting it to a magazine. I'm sorry but I am going to have to quit looking at your blog!* Everything you do I want to do. I doubt if I will live that long -- I couldn't get everything done in 30 years!

***** I lie, of course I'm going to continue to visit. I love your stuff! Bonnie

  20. Hi Reenie,
Take it to an art gallery or local artisan shops. There are a few of galleries around here who sell on consignment... 60-70% of sale for you/30 - 40% for them. I saw some in a small gallery last week, that were selling for $400.00 and $800.00... could not hold candle to your work.
If you truly want to sell it, that is where I would go first. Also local bed and bath stores. Wow! This quilt is seriously beautiful!
