This is to document my love of and obsession with fabric and quilts! The true, guilty story of buying "just a little bit more", of shopping at thrift stores for the extra large mens shirts to use in your next quilt..and yes..even eyeing up your best friends blouse wondering if she'd notice if you "borrowed" it and just how many 2 inch strips you could get out of it!

Christmas quiltalong update #1
Okay..this morning I got the backing pieced and got the quilt sandwiched together. Then, time to get Patrick up, dressed and fed. We started cleaning up the kitchen when I got a call from Hub. He lost his car keys at the golf course! So, off to drop off the spare key for him and then back. Finished cleaning up the kitchen and now I am finally sewing. I got the middle row of stars quilted.
I couldn't get a pic of the whole row where you could see the quilting, so I settled for 1 block. You can't really tell, but I am quilting those in a bright red thread. Should look pretty on the back! Now, off to check the blogs and then back to getting those stars all quilted!
Oh, I have Susan Boyle's cd, The Gift, playing. Lord, I love this woman's voice!!

Your quilt is just going to look so soft and snuggly.
ReplyDeleteI like Susan Boyle's singing, too. The stars look pretty good.
ReplyDeleteHa! Great minds (nearly) think alike, Reenie!
ReplyDeleteI'm quilting round the stars too, but quilting in the ditch - then FMQ stars for the railfence blocks (if all goes according to plan!).
It's looking so pretty already. I get bogged down when I start quilting. Sometimes that part gets so tedious. You're doing a great job.
