Wow..hard to believe it has been a week and a half since I posted last. Unfortunately, my absence wasn't do to anything good. A friend of ours had brain cancer and we were helping out. He passed away last Thursday and we are now done with the funeral. 54 years old is too young to pass away. My only comfort is that he believed that Jesus died for his sins and is now sitting in heaven...probably asking God to let the Buffalo Bills have at least ONE win this season!!
The only sewing I had been doing was a little bit of the applique on the Trees of Life wallhanging. Last night I finally HAD to do some piecing or I would go crazy, so I picked a simple pattern that I could mindlessly stitch up. Here are the pieces:
Some nice, big 4 patches and these:
Some nice big connecting blocks.
What would we do without our stitching to keep us sane and centered in a crazy world? I sure don't want to find out.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. As you said, 54 is young.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have managed to get some sewing time in again now though.
54 is way too young to die. I hope that in the not too distant future they find a cure for cancer. It has touched so many lives.
ReplyDeleteAs you say, sewing is the way to keep our sanity.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs Gina xxx
