This is to document my love of and obsession with fabric and quilts! The true, guilty story of buying "just a little bit more", of shopping at thrift stores for the extra large mens shirts to use in your next quilt..and yes..even eyeing up your best friends blouse wondering if she'd notice if you "borrowed" it and just how many 2 inch strips you could get out of it!

Quilters block??
Is there such a thing as quilters block like writers block?? I WANT to sew...I NEED to sew...and I can't. I got the backing pieced for my niece's quilt tonight but when I went to my daughter's room to sandwich it (the only room that has enough clear floor space), she was already in bed. So..on to something else. I could rip out those side pieces on the Trees of Life top that I don't like..nope..can't get into it..I can piece the Pinwheel Party blocks that I still need to make..nope...that's not it. Okay...let's get remotivated here. I find and watch a tutorial on applique..cool! Want to applique..nope..not now. Alrighty...let's look through some quilt books and blogs to get motivated..nope, not cutting it. Sigh..I give up.

I felt that way all day today. Have no idea why because I really want to get the denim and flannel quilt finished so I can get started on the material you so generously shared with me. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for both of us. I sure hope so.
ReplyDeleteReenie-I think we all have felt like this at times.Give yourself a break-you have been doing so much quilting, feeling lousy and doing all the house stuff plus working. Sounds like your brain needs a rest-find a good book and read for a bit, take a bubble bath, listen to some music and get a good night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteThere is definitely such a thing. Sorry to hear you've got it, but it is probably better than my problem, where I do it and do it wrong!
ReplyDeleteI just think you are too consumed with other things right now... Monday will be a day to breathe and Tuesday will be all better. When Im like this I organize....
ReplyDeleteDon't panic. Take a deep breath, close the door on your sewing room and go and do something else. Don't worry about not sewing and soon enough you'll be back at the machine again
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs Gina xxx
