This is to document my love of and obsession with fabric and quilts! The true, guilty story of buying "just a little bit more", of shopping at thrift stores for the extra large mens shirts to use in your next quilt..and yes..even eyeing up your best friends blouse wondering if she'd notice if you "borrowed" it and just how many 2 inch strips you could get out of it!

Christmas Quiltalong progress
Before I get into the Christmas quiltalong, I wanted to share a few pics of my youngest, Hannah, from her senior ball last night:
Hannah and Anthony looked great, didn't they?? The bottom picture is Hannah and her best friend, my "extra" daughter, Sophia. Very bittersweet for me. I am 48, my oldest child of my 6 will be 31 this year and Hannah is my baby at 18. This will be my very last prom. I don't mind my age, but I HATE my kids growing up!!!!
Now for the quiltalong. The next part in the mystery has been revealed and I have 6 of the blocks made.
Now, back to stitching to finish up the other 18 blocks!!

ReplyDeleteI'm liking your quilt layout also.
Your daughter is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks too, and hope that you do.
Don't you hate it when they grow up...at least she grew up to be gorgeous!! :o)You done good, mama!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is looking wonderful!
P
Your blocks look wonderful.. Beautiful 'little' girl. Yes, they do grow fast - but now I am enjoying grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteOh your last prom, that's a sure tear jerker isn't it? Love that he wore a matching tie, to cute, in my day the guys wore cumber buns, yikes I better save that one up to torment my 6 year old with, right there along with the "I was born before the Internet" - and remember it's development too.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful daughter, and she has a handsome young man! Great looking blocks.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pictures of Hannah's prom. Everyone looks beautiful/handsome. And I think your block looks super.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics, Reenie - such a happy time for them (if a bittersweet one for you!) - their whole future is before them.
ReplyDeleteLike your block layout too - this has been such fun!
I hate the growing up part, too. I would have had a dozen but he wouldn't agree to it. I am 47 and my youngest is 21. Every day seems to bring another "last time". Your girls are gorgeous. Hope they had a good time.
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas quilt along. I wasn't sure with the last post but I am liking it now.
Hi Reenie - your daughter is gorgeous. My oldest is graduating this year, I am a wreck and her prom is still a couple of weeks away.
ReplyDeletePlus loved seeing the picture of Shellie!
