Have I ever told you that I have the best sister in law EVER? We have known each other since we were 13...that would be 33 years now! She is my sister, through and through. Don't know how I would make it without Tammy. A couple of years ago her step mother in law passed away and more recently, her father in law. She found these tops that her step mom in law had hand stitched (and thinks there might be more) among their things and knew I was just the person for them. These are just tops, so I have some work to do on them, but in the mean time, I will just look at them and love them. She told me I could donate them with my own, or keep them. Hmmm..that is going to be a tough decision!! Here is the first:
Here are some pictures up close of some of these great old fabrics:
Here is the second quilt:
Aren't these great? I just love the fabrics..and the embroidery on the crazy quilt is just great. I can see it will be a loooooooong time, if ever, before I get tired of looking at these. Hope you enjoyed this show and tell!!
congrats, both look like wonderful. I hope my kids enjoy my hand-me-downs and have a spirit of sharing. cw
ReplyDeleteI love both of the vintage quilts and could not imagine giving them up. They're wonderful. I hope you don't mind my saving a copy of the two crazy quilt pictures. I love the crazy quilt concept but have only seen them done silks, velvets etc. That is just now me. The material used in your quilt are what I like.
