And I agree with QuiltSue - you don't have to applique if they are the same.
Great idea on the other quilt too and I can't wait to see it!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12011158260769958981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1322893227814096814.post-6068397544868694822010-09-20T03:18:16.743-07:002010-09-20T03:18:16.743-07:00I didn't realize how large the wall hanging wa...I didn't realize how large the wall hanging was until I looked closely and saw hands holding it up. It's going to be so pretty. I wouldn't applique it either. That would take away from the trees.

Your niece is going to be so thrilled with the shower gift. That is so thoughtful of you to do that. Let the trees stand by themselves. I think I would remove the outside fabric and pull one of the colors from the trees-audition some different colors and see what makes those lovely trees stand out more.
Love the idea of the shower gift.Kathynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1322893227814096814.post-27752654771854952072010-09-20T01:17:29.133-07:002010-09-20T01:17:29.133-07:00I can make a suggestion about the applique. Why not do some beautiful quilting instead, say using the same shapes as your pieced trees?

Lovely idea about the quilt for the wedding shower too.QuiltSuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18121195815836334067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1322893227814096814.post-6129914226706212252010-09-19T20:23:39.277-07:002010-09-19T20:23:39.277-07:00I was a TOTAL non appliquer just this time last ye...I was a TOTAL non appliquer just this time last year. But I found a great video -- Piece O' Cake's How to Applique the Piece O' Cake Way -- and their book The Applique Sampler. Both these helped me learn needle-turn applique and I'm hopelessly addicted!
I love your trees of life! That is one of my all time favorite patterns! Good news on the remodels...hope ev'rything continues speedily!
Blessings,
Mary LouMary Lou Casadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01918932281509702766noreply@blogger.com
